Swedish children’s culture pushes boundaries while respecting the child’s perspective

The idea of a child’s right to culture - to have every child’s own experience and perspective validated through books, television, theatre and music - is an important part of Swedish society. Sweden’s leading role in prioritizing children’s culture was highlighted yesterday when the world’s largest children’s book prize was awarded in Stockholm, honouring the legacy of Swedish children’s author Astrid Lindgren.
